The countdown to the holidays is on! As you are thinking about the folks in your life who might need a gift, here is a list of a few of my favorite things. Not everything on here is just for runners!

Goodr Sunglasses - $25 - $35

You cannot go wrong with these sunglasses. They are affordable, stylish, polarized, and practical. I have at least 9 pairs of these now, so I probably really don't need any more, but who doesn't love a new accessory? Perfect for runners, loungers, drivers, walkers, basically everyone!

Run Fast Cook Fast Eat Slow - $15.99

This cook book by Olympian Shalane Flanagan and chef Elyse Kopecky is amazing. So many good recipes that are healthy, nutritious, and indulgent. I use this cookbook all the time. It's a great gift even for nonrunners, for people who like to cook fast and eat healthy.

Smartwool Thermal Merino Reversible Headband - $22

I love this headband. If you live in a place more northernly, you might want something a little thicker, but for North Carolina winters, this headband gets the job done. It's sweatwicking, light weight and still incredibly warm. And it's affordable. A great gift for runners, but also great for anyone who might like to enjoy the outdoors in the winter months.

Energizer Rechargeable LED Headlamp - $22.59

This headlamp is lightweight, has great battery life, and gives out a lot of light. It has several modes for all of your night time running needs, including red and green lights for night vision needs. The lamp also pivots so that you can shine the light exactly in the right place to avoid tripping hazards while you run. This is another gift that also isn't exclusively just for runners!

Smartwool Socks - $19

These smartwool socks are great for runners. Made with merino wool, they are light weight and super soft. Great as a gift under the tree or in the stocking!

Oofos Ooriginal Sandals - $59.95

These recovery sandals are a must have for all runners. Oofos makes a lot of different recovery footwear, but I like the sandals and they go on almost as soon as I finish a long run. I usually also have my support team bring these sandals to the finish line because my shoes are the first thing that need to come off after a long race!

EverFoam's Slippers - $25

Okay, this is definitely not a runner gift; these are an anyone gift. I love these slippers, especially in the winter. They are cozy, comfy, and have a nice rubber sole if you need to walk outside. (Have I worn them to pick up my kids from school...? Yes, definitely yes.) I have had a pair of these for a few years now and they have held up great with regular fall/winter use.

For the Dog Owners -

If you run with your dog, here are my "never-leave-home-without-them" supplies to clean up after your dog, and keep your dog hydrated. Oh yeah, and an amazing sweatshirt!

  • Tuff Mutt Poop Bag Holder - $13 - the best poop bag holder on the market. I have tried several different brands.

  • Port-a-Poo - $13 - Love this handy device with a latch so you don't have to carry your dog's used poop bags when you can't find a trash can.

  • Collapsible Dog Bowl - $8 - An absolute must for your pop on warm weather days, running or not!

  • Run all the Miles, Pet all the Dogs Sweatshirt - $70 - Love the Sarah Marie Running Co. Quality products and cute runner gifts.

Runner's World Subscription - $60 Premium Access for One Year

I love the Runner's World Subscription and always get great access to articles and information on gear and training. Getting a year subscription paid for is a great gift.

Garmin Forerunner 255 - $249 (on sale Fall 2023)

I really cannot say enough good things about a Garmin. I do not leave the house without it, whether I am running or not. I wear my watch to bed most nights unless it needs to charge. Right now, the Forerunner 255, which is not the latest model, is on sale for about $100 off on Garmin (and on sale at other outlets for the same price, too). The latest Garmin Forerunner series (the 265) is on sale on Amazon for $399 ($50 off) right now. If you are looking for a slightly better display, this could be your watch, but the 255, in my opinion, is the better bang for your buck.

Shokz Open Run - $129

I love these boneconducting headphones. You can hear the music and still hear your surroundings, which is key espeically when I am running by myself. It's a little bit of a splurge for headphones, if you ask me, but I haven't found a better pair of headphones I like for running.
